Senior Construction Project Manager
About the role
At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Construction Project Manager to join our talented team in the Vacaville, California area.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manages the delivery of individual projects and holds primary responsibility for the achievement of cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Identifies risks to the project and corporation and works with Project Directors and the Director of Operations to mitigate risks.
- Develops and maintains written preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans, obtains review and approval from the Project Executive and/or Director of Operations, and communicates to the project team.
- Works closely with the Construction Manager and Site Superintendent to monitor performance against the target schedule and implement corrective actions against nonconformances.
- Maintains project costs, including values committed, forecast to commit, allowances for growth, and actually expended.
- Supports Project Executives, Director of Operations, and General Manager in the preparation of project delivery proposals.
- Supports project/client development process with presentations and related marketing activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience managing construction projects in life sciences environments (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device) and/or complex manufacturing facilities (e.g., GMP, pilot plants, laboratories, clean rooms, process utilities).
- Strong working knowledge of industry standards, construction codes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., cGMP, FDA, ISO).
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
- Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Safety
- This position is a safety-sensitive position.
- The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
