About the Role
Certerra has an excellent opportunity in our Bridge City office for a full-time senior-level construction materials laboratory/field testing technician/supervisor. This position requires a minimum of three to five years of construction materials laboratory testing experience. Experience should include laboratory and field testing of concrete, soil, asphalt concrete, and other construction materials, as well as mix design processes in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and State procedures. Knowledge of concrete and asphalt laboratory testing procedures is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory and field testing of construction materials (concrete, soil, asphalt concrete, etc.)
- Assist with maintaining AMRL / CCRL / TxDOT accreditations
- Prepare daily reports and document test results
- Assist project managers and engineers with assignments
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of related experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Reliability to arrive at project sites prior to scheduled times
- Ability to prepare reports and documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of Excel
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours
- Must pass physical, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy

- TxDOT Level 1-A certification
- TxDOT Level 1-B certification
- SB 101 certification <
- SB 102 certification
- SB 103 certification
- ACI Strength certification
- TxDOT Level 2 certification (preferred)
- Current laboratory certifications and ability to achieve additional concrete and soil laboratory certifications (a bonus)
