Responsibilities
- Performs cradle-to-grave maintenance operations on U. S. Air Force WRM and RADR vehicle and equipment fleet assets.
- Performs preventative maintenance and special inspections as required and determines the overall mechanical condition of vehicles and equipment.
- Understands all requirements to meet asset “safe and serviceable” condition.
- Performs diagnostic, triage, repair maintenance actions based on AF priorities.
- Conducts parts research utilizing available T.O.s, T.M.s, and commercial manuals.
- Manages and accounts for Air Force assets and performs accurate & timely administrative fleet management actions and accounts for all assigned equipment and tools as required.
- Maintains CFR, FIAR, OSHA, AFOSH, and other federal, country, state regulatory compliance requirements.
- Properly handles the accountability and disposal of hazardous waste and maintain current certifications and training requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 6+ years of qualified mechanical experience.
- Up to 25% Travel Required.
- Extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, replacing components for heavy construction vehicles and equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, pump, and mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines, including diagnostics and repairs.
- Experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pumping schematics for troubleshooting.
- Experience and understanding of the Air Force’s fleet management and support systems, including compliance with asset Life-Cycle Management.
- Experience in diagnosing and repairing aircraft support, refueling, MHE, tactical, transport vehicles.
- AF Fleet Management & Analysis experience.
- Knowledge of AF Forms 1800, 4354, 4355, AFTO 91.
- Familiarity with T.O. 36-1-191, AFI 24-302, AFI 24-301.
- Familiarity with the Air Force’s Electronic Technical Manual System (ETIMS), AF Technical Orders, and various Commercial Manuals for maintenance and repairs.
- Experience in corrosion prevention or removal in commercial or military contexts.
- AFSC 2T3X1 (2T351, 2T371, 2T371A, B, C) or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.
- Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
- Must be able to work in high noise areas.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
- Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
