Senior Configuration Analyst - II

About the Role

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Senior Configuration Analyst - II to support VA applications and spearhead the migration to the cloud. This is a full-time, remote position requiring U.S. Citizenship and a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and lead migration to the cloud
• Develop and maintain software configuration management (CM) tools for configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery
• Perform CM and release engineering tasks to ensure compliance and sustainability
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools using programming, database, or scripting languages
• Develop and implement build procedures for software product development
• Establish software configuration standards for company-wide use
• Train software developers on CM tools and quality standards
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems
• Ensure compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Lead and train junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Public Trust (MBI) security clearance or ability to obtain
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or 8+ years of relevant experience)
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with software configuration management and release engineering
• Proficiency in source control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps Repos, Subversion)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions)
• Scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform)
• Experience with work management tools (JIRA, Azure Boards, Trello)
• Strong analytical and communication skills

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering
• Experience in large, regulated enterprises or federal environments
• Knowledge of software quality standards and governance frameworks
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
• Commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with industry trends

Salary Range: $74,325 - $82,500
