Senior Concrete Finisher

Baseline Contracting, Inc. is hiring a skilled Senior Concrete Finisher / Craftsman to join our premier Field Operations team in Coplay, PA. We are an established leader in heavy highway and civil concrete construction, delivering high-spec projects for PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, local municipalities, and major commercial or industrial clients. This role is designed for a true master of the trade who takes immense pride in the final product, working on signature, high-visibility structural elements.

About the role

You will hold responsibility for the final structural aesthetic, texture, and longevity of our concrete placements, working on projects including bridge decks, retaining walls, slipform and fixed-form parapets, and complex site architectural features. This is a full-time, permanent position offering steady year-round work and access to premium prevailing wage contracts in a secure career environment where your skills are respected and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Expertly finish fresh concrete surfaces to exact grading, slope, and cosmetic specifications using manual hand tools and mechanical power trowels.
• Lead or assist in setting, aligning, and securing structural fixed forms; direct the pouring, spreading, and rough leveling of raw material.
• Smooth, edge, groove, and cut precise expansion joints in freshly placed concrete to prevent cracking and guarantee structural longevity under load conditions.
• Correctly apply chemical curing compounds, surface sealers, and protective coatings according to strict PennDOT and client engineering standards.
• Oversee the cleaning, maintenance, and storage of high-end finishing tools, screeds, floats, and power equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Enforce a safety-first field culture, strictly adhering to company safety procedures and OSHA regulations across all active work zones.
• Partner with your crew to hit aggressive production targets without compromising quality benchmarks.

Requirements

• 2+ years of documented experience in professional structural concrete finishing is highly preferred.
• Elite proficiency with hand trowels, mag floats, bull floats, walking edgers, mechanical power trowels, and vibrating screeds.
• Deep technical understanding of concrete mix behavior, slump variations, and how shifting weather impacts the optimal timing window for finishing.
• Capacity to perform intensive, physically demanding outdoor labor in all Pennsylvania weather conditions over extended shifts.
• Reliable personal transportation to guarantee punctual arrival at assigned regional jobsites.

Skills

Pay
