Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect
About the Role
Provide DevSecOps and Agile IT support services for operational mission support for the systems under the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Information Systems Division (ISD) portfolio. Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Perform systems management and integration functions.
Participate in developing new software solution concepts and related enterprise logistics systems (utilizing Agile Software Development principles) to extend current capability for a projected period of 5 years. Develop software standards for use with software tools/solutions to improve system stability. Manage and incorporate industry-proven technology for asset logistic support solutions and identify standard processes for support of software whether developed organically or acquired by other means (GOTS, COTS, etc.).
Support enterprise applications through industry-accepted practices for evaluating alternative solutions to meet customer’s existing requirements and USCG modernization efforts. Participate in internal validation documentation, including technical specifications, special instructions, and regression test plans. Debug software and identify required corrections to meet specified requirements.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in Computer Science, Math, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or at minimum, an IT Certification.
- Six (6) years of experience can substitute for three (3) years of education.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience with Ingres relational database software, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle relational database software.
- Experience with principles, practices, or procedures used in application/system lifecycle development, engineering, programming, and/or analysis.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience with Procedure Language/SQL, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience with a System Modeling Tool.
- Six (6) years of experience with Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 1 clearance for unclassified systems.
- Active Secret Clearance.
