Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and interpret federal, state/provincial, and local payroll tax and labor legislation across the United States and Canada
- Assess the impact of legislative changes on payroll and HR systems and product functionality
- Translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear business and system requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation of research, interpretations, and decisions
- Contribute to and maintain the legislative knowledge base
- Support the correct interpretation and implementation of statutory requirements within product development
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and Solution Designers
- Prepare internal and client-facing documentation explaining legislative changes and system impacts
- Assist with drafting responses to compliance-related queries
- Provide guidance to internal teams on payroll compliance matters
- Support resolution of complex compliance-related queries
- Stay informed of regulatory developments through industry forums and regulatory publications
- Liaise with regulatory authorities where necessary
Qualifications/Experience
- 5+ years of payroll tax compliance experience
- 5+ years of payroll experience
- Must be able to interpret statutory requirements/legislation, with the focus on tax and labor legislation
- Law or tax/accounting qualification preferred
