About the role

At TD Bank US Compliance, we're on a mission to build a more resilient and scalable compliance risk management function. As part of our team, you'll play a key role in reshaping compliance structures and processes, driving innovation at every level. This role supports adherence to applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA/Regulation V), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA/Regulation B), Truth in Lending Act (TILA/Regulation Z), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA/Regulation E), and other consumer protection laws and regulations. Knowledge of applicable Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) regulations and guidance, including deposit insurance requirements and related obligations under Parts 330 and 370, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise sound and expert independent professional judgment in interacting and communicating with staff and senior management on significant regulatory compliance risk matters.
  • Make prudent professional decisions in rendering advice and counsel to business lines on compliance matters and regulatory risks impacting business performance and enterprise strategies.
  • Provide advanced analysis and specialized reporting to support business partners, functional areas, or centers of expertise.
  • Research, review, and maintain expertise on banking regulations, laws, policies, procedures, and consumer protection laws.
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert for regulations applicable to business partners, providing guidance and consultation on compliance.
  • Create training content and train business partners on regulatory requirements.
  • Advise the business on implementing new and amended regulatory requirements.
  • Independently review and approve documentation for business line use, including disclosures, forms, customer-facing correspondence, operating procedures, and policies.
  • Perform targeted and periodic monitoring of business activities for compliance with regulatory requirements and expectations.
  • Identify and communicate areas of non-compliance and material control weaknesses.
  • Oversee business partners' remediation of regulatory issues, including reviewing and approving remediation action plans.
  • Assess regulatory risk associated with new products, services, and initiatives with significant operational or financial impact.
  • Integrate broader organizational context into compliance advice and solutions.
  • Lead projects of moderate to complex risks and resource requirements.
  • Serve as a contact for business management, external/internal auditors, and non-routine information requests.
  • Recommend and implement solutions within the compliance area.
  • Coordinate and integrate work with other areas as needed.
  • Assist in developing and implementing compliance policies, processes, and controls.
  • Facilitate periodic compliance risk and self-assessment activities using TD’s Enterprise Compliance Risk Assessment Framework.
  • Monitor that assessments (e.g., monitoring, risk assessment) are completed and communicated in a timely fashion.
  • Guide and complement the assigned portfolio in financial, regulatory, and risk management requirements.
  • Interact with control functions within the organization.
  • Develop analysis and insights, prepare and deliver management reporting to measure risk factors in various products.
  • Update business line policies and compliance team procedures.
  • Analyze compliance requirements and ensure they are incorporated into business projects and approved appropriately.
  • Work directly with business management and internal/external partners (e.g., Internal Audit, external consultants) to respond to regulatory requests, findings, audits, or examinations.
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements in the compliance industry and assess potential impacts.
  • Coordinate with other compliance partners and business governance teams to promote consistency in compliance programs and standards across the enterprise.
  • Support risk exposure determination, mitigation, and controls for new products, marketing campaigns, and program expansions.
  • Conduct enterprise-wide annual risk assessments for all TD businesses.
  • Support business lines with compliance/risk controls and periodically evaluate risk mitigation efforts.
  • Protect the interests of the organization by identifying and managing risks and resolving escalated non-standard, high-risk issues.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance or a related field.
  • Knowledge of consumer protection laws, regulations, and related requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience preparing reports, presentations, and compliance-related materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience supporting compliance-related projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, perform research, and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and effectively communicate compliance risks and concerns.
  • Third-party/vendor oversight experience preferred.
  • CRCM certification or progress toward certification is a plus.

Pay

$72,280 - $117,520 USD per year. TD is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities. The base pay offered may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs.

Schedule

40 hours per week.
