About the role

The Senior Communications Specialist is responsible for creating content and executing Candid’s digital communications strategy on social media, email, and website. They will work within the Communications & Brand Awareness department, particularly with the senior digital communications manager and product marketing team, to create connections with Candid across channels, presenting a cohesive, unified message about how Candid gets people the information they need to do good.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Candid's day-to-day social media strategy, including creating content, engaging with followers, and monitoring channels.
  • Maintain editorial calendar for social media to strengthen and refine Candid's narrative.
  • Monitor and report on social media sentiment, paying close attention to trends, news cycles, and sector conversations to inform strategic response and content planning.
  • In collaboration with the marketing department, maintain and enhance Candid’s WordPress website, with an emphasis on content creation and SEO to attract and engage users.
  • Manage Candid's annual brand awareness survey, coordinating with research consultant on planning and reporting findings to inform communications strategy.
  • Responsible for programming email campaigns and newsletters in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, assist in experimenting to refine content that deepens engagement and grows our subscriber base.
  • Track, analyze, and report on email, campaign, social media, and website performance. Create and disseminate quarterly reports on social media, email, blog, and press growth and engagement.
  • Provide graphic design support for communications materials including social media images and PowerPoint presentations, working in collaboration with Candid's design team.

Requirements

  • 4 years of communications, marketing or brand awareness experience (organization, agency, or consultant).
  • Experience creating, executing, and tracking social media, web, and email content.
  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, (or similar) or equivalent work experience.
  • Graphic design and video editing skills, with experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Rush, InDesign) to create social media content or presentation materials.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, WordPress, and Sprout Social or equivalent platforms.
  • Content development, SEO, Google Ads, and Google Analytics proficiency. Basic knowledge of HTML is preferred.
  • Outstanding project management skills.
  • Excellent written, presentation, interpersonal, and people influencing skills.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and detail/deadline orientation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs.
  • Driven by creative intuition but able to course-correct with data.
  • Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested.

Pay

$60,000 - $90,000 (this range is for the NYC area and will be adjusted for other localities; additionally, factors like skills and experience will be considered).

Schedule

35-hour work week, Monday through Friday.

In-person attendance is expected twice per year during our annual, weeklong all-staff summits. Additional in-person meeting participation is expected at least once per quarter for senior leaders and at least once per month for the executive team. Staff not located in the NYC area are expected to travel for these meetings.
