About the Opportunity
The Senior Communications and Engagement Lead is responsible for leading member communications, storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge sharing within the organization’s national network. This writing-intensive role transforms complex information and member experiences into clear, compelling communications and practical resources. The position plays a central role in facilitating peer learning, strengthening network engagement, and communicating the organization’s impact in election administration.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary communications contact for members and stakeholders.
- Create and maintain regular member communications including newsletters and updates.
- Build trusted relationships with election officials and key stakeholders.
- Identify member needs, challenges, and peer learning opportunities.
- Maintain confidentiality while surfacing insights to inform organizational work.
- Support member-facing convenings, webinars, trainings, and engagement initiatives.
- Develop written content such as newsletters, reports, case studies, and issue briefs.
- Translate complex operational and policy information into clear communications.
- Capture and articulate member stories and organizational impact.
- Curate best practices and develop public and member-facing resources.
- Manage content strategy for the member portal and distribution channels.
- Support rapid-response resource development during sensitive or time-sensitive events.
- Collaborate with leadership on organizational storytelling and impact communications.
- Facilitate workgroups, communities of practice, and peer-learning activities.
- Convert member discussions into practical resources and communications products.
Requirements
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Experience in communications, associations, nonprofits, philanthropy, public affairs, government, civic engagement, or related mission-driven fields.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable communications.
- Skill in building and maintaining trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Capacity to manage content strategy and knowledge-sharing platforms.
- Valued but not required: Experience with election administration.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
