Responsibilities

  • Analyzes credit data to estimate risk in extending credit or lending money to commercial businesses or individuals.
  • Leads and mentors assigned analysts, assuming responsibilities of a manager.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements and assess credit requests on complex commercial credit relationships of $2,500,000 and greater.
  • Keeps up-to-date with company lending protocols.
  • Manages competing deadlines for projects in a high-pressure work environment.
  • Applies accounting principles and financial techniques.
  • Researches and solves problems.
  • Communicates clearly and persuasively.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Uses computers and software for statistical and financial calculations.
  • Analyzes financial statements, ratios, and concepts.
  • Performs loan reviews and annual reviews on selected borrowers and guarantors.
  • Performs cash flows, financial credit analysis, collateral valuations, and global cash flows for commercial borrowers and guarantors.
  • Attends customer calls and site visits as requested.
  • Maintains ongoing file maintenance to ensure credit information is uploaded to the credit file in a timely manner.
  • Identifies policy, collateral, and missing document exceptions.
  • Identifies strengths and weaknesses of the relationship.
  • Aids relationship managers in structuring credits, assessing covenants, and monitoring procedures.
  • Trains and develops new relationship managers on the credit analysis process.
  • Trains, develops, and mentors new credit analysts and the CDP analyst on credit analysis underwriting and processes.
  • Manages and develops Credit Analyst II/III in the department in the absence of the manager.
  • Distributes and assigns work flow based on knowledge and complexity in the manager’s absence.
  • Assists the Loan Committee with reports, agendas, meeting books, and minutes in the absence of the Credit Analysis Manager.
  • Serves as a supervisor for employees in the Credit Analysis Department in the absence of the manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • Seven or more years of credit analysis experience.
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications such as Moody’s, the Internet, Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to use bank-specific software like MPC, IBS, ADP, etc.
  • Ability to use basic office machines.
