Senior Commercial Renewal Underwriter

Key Responsibilities

• Oversight and management of the underwriting process for complex commercial accounts.
• Auditing risk and exposure for auto, property, general liability, workers' compensation, and Excess/Umbrella.
• Evaluation of risk factors, loss history, and market trends to inform underwriting decisions.
• Mentoring and guiding junior underwriters through training sessions and knowledge sharing.
• Development and refinement of underwriting policies, processes, and pricing strategies.
• Cross-functional collaboration with teams such as claims, risk management, and product development.
• Engagement in business development initiatives and identification of growth opportunities.
• Monitoring regulatory changes and industry best practices for compliance and alignment.
• Preparation and presentation of detailed reports on underwriting performance metrics and market analysis.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, including auto, property, general liability, workers compensation, and Excess/Umbrella.
• Proven track record in risk assessment, pricing strategies, and developing underwriting guidelines.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make sound decisions.
• Strong negotiation skills coupled with superior communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively interact with brokers, agents, and clients.
