Responsibilities

  • Direct interdepartmental and external team members to ensure all functional departments are on track with project requirements, budget constraints, deadlines, schedules, and regulations.
  • Meet with project team members to identify risks and opportunities and resolve issues.
  • Submit project deliverables and ensure they adhere to contract requirements and quality standards.
  • Prepare project status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
  • Develop strategies to monitor and control project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables that support business goals.
  • Establish and ensure the execution of effective project communication plans.
  • Facilitate change requests to ensure all parties are informed of impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of monthly project reports, customer progress reports, customer change proposals, and preparation of presentations to management and internal/external customers.
  • Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to clients.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities with customers.
  • Obtain customer acceptance of project deliverables.
  • Manage customer satisfaction within the project transition period.
  • Conduct post-project evaluation and lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field (required).
  • Master's degree in business or related field (a plus).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience with a strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
  • Rail, aerospace, or heavy industrial manufacturing experience (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience leading groups in a matrixed organization.
  • Budget management experience (required).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid organization skills including attention to detail, multitasking, excellent communication, and persuasion skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (a plus).
