Senior Commercial Interior Designer

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Interior Designer to lead diverse commercial interior projects across corporate, healthcare, higher education, transportation, and government markets. This is a senior-level opportunity for a design professional who can manage projects from initial programming through construction administration while building strong client relationships and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate combines creative design expertise with strong project management, communication, and leadership skills. Relocation assistance: Partial. Must have current or recent commercial interior design experience to be considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Lead programming, space planning, design development, and project delivery.
• Oversee field verification, existing conditions, construction documents, specifications, and finish/furniture selections.
• Lead client presentations, consultant coordination, and construction administration.
• Manage project schedules, deliverables, quality, and client expectations.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships and support repeat business and business development efforts.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, promoting collaboration and design excellence.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading commercial interior design projects from concept through completion.
• Strong knowledge of space planning, construction documentation, materials, furnishings, and project coordination.
• NCIDQ Certification required.
• Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam Revu required.
• 3D rendering capabilities required.
• Excellent client communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
• Strong leadership skills with an interest in mentoring and future management responsibilities.
• Experience with business development and client relationship growth preferred.

Pay

The expected salary range is $93,000–$107,000.
