About the role

Responsible for developing, growing, and servicing commercial relationships that include loan and deposit accounts with new and existing businesses. Creates sales opportunities and partners with others to cross-sell appropriate business products and services and increase membership. Handles underwriting, structuring, and closing member commercial accounts, including government-sponsored programs and large, complex commercial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit, negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of large, complex commercial real estate loans, commercial and industrial loans, and source and refer SBA loans in compliance with Magnifi Financial’s lending policies and procedures.
  • Perform offsite visits for new and existing members.
  • Provide in-person assistance to commercial members in all areas of the member relationship with Magnifi Financial.
  • Originate and administer Acquisition, Development, and Construction Loans, as well as handle complex governmental housing, 1031 exchanges, tax increment financing, and specialized lending products.
  • Interview members applying for large, complex commercial loans, deposits, and services; make decisions within authority and provide recommendations or referrals when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate excellent networking skills to generate referral sources that produce new profitable relationships and new members who recommend other businesses to Magnifi Financial.
  • Expand member relationships through follow-up activities, including outbound calls, and make referrals to appropriate departments to ensure all member needs are met.
  • Make credit decisions within lending authority and provide recommendations on loans above lending authority.
  • Assist members and lending staff applying for government and third-party sponsored programs such as SBA, FSA, and other loan programs.
  • Review financial information with members, addressing concerns, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Work with the credit function to complete credit presentations, financial analysis, and risk ratings on existing and prospective credits.
  • Develop and maintain a complex commercial deposit, loan, and services portfolio that meets organizational guidelines and maximizes return on equity and asset goals while minimizing risk.
  • Pursue new business relationships by seeking new and existing prospects to ensure sufficient new loan, deposit, and service volumes are met.
  • Perform loan closings with members, ensuring all paperwork is properly completed and complies with legal regulations and Magnifi Financial policies.
  • Perform collections and negotiations on problem member commercial loans.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Banking Officer I, II, & III positions to assist with commercial banking products and services and manage possible account transfers when lending thresholds are achieved.
  • Assist in training, mentoring, and providing functional guidance to other Commercial Bankers and staff.
  • Stay abreast of rules, regulations, and Magnifi Financial policy relating to member commercial loan and deposit accounts.
  • Actively participate in community relations efforts to contribute to the mission and visibility of Magnifi Financial.
  • Ensure positive relationships with members, community leaders, and businesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Fifteen years of commercial lending experience, or equivalent knowledge and skills gained from related experience.
  • Notary Public designation within 3 months of start date (desired but not required).
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance with minimum liability limits within Magnifi Financial policy.
  • Must be bondable.
  • May work in multiple branches to accommodate member needs.

Pay

Salary Range: $127,350 - $191,026. Salaries vary based on factors such as location, internal equity, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role. Total compensation package varies based on position and may include bonuses, performance-based incentives, commission, and/or discretionary bonuses.
