About the role

The Senior Cogito Developer position at UW Medicine IT Services offers a 100% remote opportunity. Employees receive 15 days of vacation per year, 12 days of sick time, 1 personal holiday, and 11 paid holidays annually. Additionally, there's a 100% matching, 100% immediately vesting 403(b) plan.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Identify business and technical impacts of user requirements and articulate to all constituents.
• Assume responsibility for the quality and delivery of technology business solutions.
• Create ad hoc and ongoing reports and other data outputs to support the clinical and business needs for the enterprise.

Areas of Responsibility

• Collaborate with Analytics leadership to help set direction, standards, and processes for a team of Cogito and BI Developers.
• Work with Analytics Business Analysts, Clinical Informatics, application teams, and customers to gather, analyze, and document reporting requirements.
• Design, code, test, and maintain reporting and analytics objects, utilizing industry best practices.
• Utilize Epic’s Cogito suite of tools to deliver data solutions.
• Provide production support and respond to help desk tickets related to the BI development tool set and Epic Cogito suite.
• Mentor and provide guidance, direction, and support to other developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Math, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of experience/education.
• Currently holds 2 or more current Epic certifications OR has obtained Epic proficiency and has consistently demonstrated technical competencies for 3+ years in relevant functional/business area.
• Certification in Epic Cogito Fundamentals is required.
• 4+ years of experience must include: 4+ years’ recent healthcare or IT experience, 3+ years' experience with BI reporting tools, 3+ years’ experience with Epic Cogito reporting tools (SlicerDicer, SQL Metrics, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards), strong, applied experience with Epic Clarity Data Model and Reporting for medium to large scale projects, complete and demonstrable understanding of BI reporting best practices, including requirements gathering, high level of awareness of the current and future BI technologies.

UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.
