About the role:Loftware is expanding its worldwide 24x7 Cloud Operations Team and we are looking for a technically motivated Cloud Operations Engineer with a strong cloud-based Linux and Windows knowledge. The Cloud Operations Engineer will be hands-on and involved with building, maintaining, and troubleshooting customer environments for mission-critical application use across the range of cloud platforms used by Loftware, including AWS and Azure. The Cloud Operations Engineer is someone that is a team player with the desire and passion for modern technology and keen to take on large-scale responsibility for the cloud environment.The Cloud Operations Engineer will work with the rest of the Cloud Operations team and alongside QA and Development to continually improve automated infrastructure and application deployment, to build and maintain reliable cloud infrastructure and services and to manage the highly available and scalable solutions that Loftware customers rely on.This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team helping to evolve our solutions for different cloud platforms as well as expand your skills in the cloud.The base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $160,000 annually. This range represents the good-faith minimum and maximum salary that the organization believes it would pay for this role at the time of this posting (these ranges are dependent on location of hire). Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesLead Cloud Operations ExcellenceOwn and enhance monitoring, observability, and alerting frameworks across AWS, Azure, and other platforms.Define SLIs/SLOs and drive continuous reliability improvements.Drive Automation & Infrastructure as CodeArchitect and maintain scalable, reusable IaC solutions using Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible.Champion automation-first approaches to eliminate manual operational tasks.Security & Compliance LeadershipDesign and enforce cloud security best practices, governance, and compliance standards.Lead vulnerability assessments and remediation strategies across environments.Reliability & Resilience EngineeringDesign and implement disaster recovery (DR), backup strategies, and high availability architectures.Lead incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and postmortem reviews with actionable improvements.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with Engineering, QA, and Product teams to improve system architecture and application performanceInfluence design decisions to enhance scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency.Cloud Networking ArchitectureDesign and manage complex networking setups including VPNs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, and hybrid connectivity.Performance OptimizationIdentify bottlenecks and lead initiatives to optimize system performance and cost efficiency.Mentorship & LeadershipMentor junior engineers and contribute to team skill development.Define and promote best practices across cloud operations.On-Call & Incident LeadershipParticipate in and lead on-call rotations.Act as escalation point for critical incidents and ensure rapid resolution Required Qualifications:8+ years of relevant experience in cloud operations, SRE, or infrastructure engineeringStrong expertise in AWS and/or AzureDeep experience with Linux and/or Windows server environmentsProven experience leading operational initiatives in production environmentsStrong communication skills in English (written and verbal)Preferred Technical Experience:Database: PostgreSQL Microsoft SQL ServerScripting: Python, Java, Bash, .NET/C#, PowershellIAC and Automation: Terraform, Terragrunt,Ansible, Rundeck, JenkinsCloud networking concepts: VPN, direct connect, transit gatewaysContainer Technologies: Docker, KubernetesCloud-native technologies: RDS, Microservices, Serverless computing Why Join Us?Working for the undisputed global leader in a business-critical industry offers unparalleled possibilities.Our team is made up of the most talented, curious, and inspiring people in their fields, each bringing something unique to the table.We use the power of the global team.We set you up for success.
