Hiring range: $87,276.80 – $157,081.60 (final offer may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity). A signing bonus may be available.

About the Role

The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions to support key enterprise organizational needs. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical leader and mentor to team members.
  • Articulate recommended solutions to project teams, management, and executive leadership.
  • Lead large projects, initiatives, and complex changes.
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions following industry best practices and organizational requirements.
  • Configure and deploy cloud services, including virtual machines, storage, databases, network, and security components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud architecture best practices and standards.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
  • Automate deployment, configuration, and management tasks using scripting or automation tools.
  • Perform regular security assessments and implement measures to protect cloud-based systems and data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing technologies.
  • Provide guidance and support to other team members on cloud-related projects and initiatives.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and training.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery plans for outages and backup and recovery solutions for data loss scenarios.
  • Monitor usage and spending, identify cost-savings opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize costs while maintaining performance and reliability.
  • Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or 5 years of related industry experience.
  • Minimum seven years of related system administration and/or systems engineering experience.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions using platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or VMware Cloud (VMC).
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including virtualization, containers, microservices, and serverless architecture.
  • Experience with cloud automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with security best practices for cloud environments, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Experience with VMware vCenter and HorizonView.
  • Experience with HPE servers, blade chassis, and 3Par storage arrays.
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus switches.
  • Experience with Checkpoint firewalls.
  • Experience with Big IP F5 Load balancers.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours per week).

Pay

$87,276.80 – $157,081.60 per year.
