Senior Clinical Lab Scientist
About the role
As our Sr. Clinical Lab Scientist, you will perform the complete scope of tests in your assigned laboratory section, contributing to high-quality diagnostic services. You will execute the full range of laboratory tests within your assigned section under the direction of the laboratory supervisor, Laboratory Manager, and Pathologist, ensuring accuracy and precision. You will comply with all applicable laws and rules, including our organization's Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures, seeking guidance when in doubt and promptly reporting potential violations.
You will ensure a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously, referring to each individual by name when appropriate. You will screen individuals by requesting to see identification or visitor pass.
Responsibilities
- Perform and record instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control including proficiency testing.
- Demonstrate knowledge and operation of the Laboratory (LIS) and the Hospital (HIS) computer systems, including validating, recording, and reporting test results via phone, computer entry, and instrument verification protocol in a timely manner.
- Recognize and prioritize tasks appropriately, respond to emergencies, adapt to changing situations, and cope with stress in a professional manner.
Requirements
- Current California License as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Microbiology Scientist (CMS).
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- Willingness to actively participate in continuing education, competency tests, and in-service training seminars to update knowledge and skills.
- Five years of laboratory experience, preferably within a hospital or clinical lab setting.
- Extensive experience performing complex laboratory tests in a specific section (e.g., Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology).
- Exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong understanding of quality control and regulatory compliance.

Pay
$66.90 - $83.35 per hour.
