Job Summary

Provides technical direction within an assigned section or sub-section of the clinical laboratory. Performs prompt, accurate, and reliable laboratory procedures on patient specimens and evaluates, interprets, and reports test results to appropriate patient care personnel.

Responsibilities

• Performs prompt, accurate, and reliable laboratory procedures on patient specimens
• Evaluates, interprets, and reports test results to appropriate patient care personnel
• Maintains and monitors laboratory tests for which the position is responsible

Requirements

• BS or BA degree verified by NYSDOE as meeting Bachelor’s degree requirements for full licensure of a clinical lab technologist required
• Laboratory technician limited permit required not necessarily prior to hire, however prior to starting
• NYS DOE - Full Clinical Laboratory Technologist License upon hire required OR laboratory technologist limited permit required not necessarily prior to hire, however prior to starting
• 4 years clinical lab experience as a technologist, with 2 years within the past 6 years performing laboratory tests for which position is responsible

Qualifications

• Experience: 4 years clinical lab experience as a technologist, with 2 years within the past 6 years performing laboratory tests for which position is responsible
