About the Role

As a Sr. Clinical Lab Scientist, you will perform the complete scope of tests in your assigned laboratory section, contributing to high-quality diagnostic services. You will execute the full range of laboratory tests within your assigned section under the direction of the laboratory supervisor, Laboratory Manager, and Pathologist, ensuring accuracy and precision. You will comply with all applicable laws and rules, including the organization's Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures.

You will maintain a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians courteously and screening individuals by requesting identification or visitor passes when appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and record instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control, including proficiency testing.
  • Validate, record, and report test results via phone, computer entry, and instrument verification protocol in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and operation of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
  • Respond to emergencies, adapt to changing situations, and cope with stress professionally.
  • Recognize and prioritize tasks appropriately.
  • Actively participate in continuing education, competency tests, and in-service training seminars to update knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • Current California License as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS).
  • Bachelor of Science in Clinical Lab Science or Clinical Microbiology (California license required).
  • Extensive experience performing complex laboratory tests in a specific section (e.g., Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology), preferably in a hospital or clinical lab setting.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional technical proficiency and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five years of laboratory experience.

Pay

$66.90 - $83.35 per hour.
