Responsibilities
- Analyzes clinical workflows, operational processes, and business needs to develop structured technology requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria that meet Informatics methodology standards.
- Conducts current-state and future-state workflow analysis for clinical systems, identifying gaps, risks, and design considerations before work enters delivery.
- Documents clinical requirements with sufficient precision for QA to execute acceptance criteria directly, in alignment with the Informatics-to-QA handoff standard.
- Provides clinical informatics input on system configuration, integration design, and data flow decisions, ensuring solutions reflect clinical workflow requirements and applicable data standards.
- Evaluates interoperability requirements for clinical systems, applying knowledge of NCPDP, HL7, and FHIR standards to ensure integration designs are clinically sound and technically executable.
- Participates in technical design reviews, contributing clinical perspective on decisions that affect pharmacy operations, patient care workflows, or clinical data integrity.
- Produces high-quality requirements documentation, workflow diagrams, and business process models that meet the Clinical Informatics track's methodology standards.
- Maintains and updates clinical system documentation, including integration specifications, configuration guides, and workflow maps, as systems evolve.
- Contributes to the development and refinement of Clinical Informatics standards, templates, and quality benchmarks in collaboration with the Sr. Manager.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and QA to ensure clinical requirements are accurate, complete, and directly usable in delivery and test execution.
- Serves as a clinical subject matter resource for Data & Analytics, IT Infrastructure, and AI teams on projects with clinical workflow or data implications.
- Mentors Clinical Informatics Analysts, providing guidance on clinical documentation standards, workflow analysis, and requirements quality.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in clinical informatics, pharmacy informatics, clinical operations, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated clinical domain knowledge: familiarity with pharmacy operations, clinical workflows, and the technology systems that support them.
- Proven ability to document clinical requirements with sufficient precision for technology delivery and QA test execution.
- Experience conducting workflow analysis and translating operational needs into structured technology requirements.
- Strong written communication skills: able to produce clear, precise documentation for both clinical and technical audiences.
