Senior Clinical Dental Director
Essential Job Duties
- Maintains standards of dental care delivery for all dental centers and oral health programs.
- Makes sure that all performance activities are running smoothly, like making sure patients can get appointments and that referrals are handled correctly.
- Manages the people who work at all GLBHC dental sites.
- Checks the records of dental providers to make sure they're doing a good job and improving their practices.
- Sets up meetings with dental staff and administrators to discuss important matters.
- Helps the Quality Improvement and Safety Committees by attending meetings and reporting back to the Board of Directors.
- Maintains relationships with the GLBHC Board of Directors by attending meetings and providing reports when asked.
- Maintains connections with educational institutions and keeps up with new ideas and opportunities.
- Stays informed about funding opportunities and changes in laws and regulations.
- Speaks up about GLBHC and Community Oral Health issues both locally and across the country.
Marginal Job Duties
- Attends training opportunities or meetings as needed.
- Helps develop more community-based oral health programs if needed.
- Does other tasks as directed.
Education: Must have graduated from a U.S. Accredited Dental School.
Licensure: Must maintain current certification and appropriate licenses as required by the State of Michigan Board of Dentistry, Board of Pharmacy, and the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration, and BLS Certification.
Experience: At least 5 years of performance as a Dentist in a group setting. Supervisory experience is preferred.
Skills: Understands quality assurance and utilization review requirements and activities. Has analytical skills and good oral and written communication abilities. Can handle administrative tasks and understand financial reports and government legislation. Has interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
Physical Effort: Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for an entire workday. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and/or twist while holding up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
Hours of Work: Full-time, flexible, and varied.
Travel: Required between GLBHC sites and for attendance at pertinent conferences. Reimbursement consistent with corporate policy.
