Responsibilities
- Build and maintain customer relationships by preparing for interactions, establishing rapport, and using open and closed-ended questions to understand financial goals.
- Match customer needs to Seacoast Bank products and services, explaining them confidently and proficiently.
- Create and enhance relationships based on customer needs, asking for referrals from new and existing customers.
- Exhibit strong listening skills and communicate clearly in all situations, responding promptly to customer needs and escalating complex matters as needed.
- Balance business needs with customer requests while managing potential risk to the bank.
- Stay updated on industry changes and embrace new technology to foster innovation and idea generation.
- Participate in community, charitable, or civic events and deliver presentations on banking products/services at networking events.
- Collaborate with branch and organizational associates to develop trusting and cooperative working relationships.
- Maintain active NMLS registration status and mentor other associates in consumer deposit, lending, and outbound calling processes.
- Demonstrate expert understanding of small business deposit products and intermediate knowledge of small business lending products.
- Identify referral opportunities with internal business partners and source Treasury Management solutions and small business lending needs.
- Lead customer-facing technology discussions and enroll customers in self-service products/processes.
- Process applications to meet the needs of small business customers.
- Open and process accounts, perform account maintenance, and handle cash and negotiable instrument transactions while adhering to bank policies and mitigating risk.
- Escalate customer concerns and ensure branch adherence to AML/BSA requirements, operational procedures, audit expectations, and regulatory standards.
- Follow up on audit, scorecard, or quality control deficiencies and practice ethical sales behaviors in line with the Associate Code of Conduct.
- Balance cash drawer daily, monitor work for accuracy, and resolve customer objections or problems in a timely manner.
- Adhere to Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct and follow all safety and security procedures.
- Support Branch Leadership in operational and customer service supervisory functions during their absence.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months cash handling experience preferred.
- 4+ years of financial services experience required.
- Flexible schedule with availability during branch operational hours, including weekends and occasional non-bank hours.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high degree of initiative.
- Proficiency in desktop, laptop, tablet, and smartphone devices, as well as Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Active NMLS registration or 2+ years of lending experience required.
