About the role

AXIS is hiring a Senior Claims Specialist, Excess Casualty, to support its expanding presence in North America's Excess market. This role contributes to collective success by handling complex commercial excess casualty claims, ensuring consistent communication, and collaborating with internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assess claims within a specialized area to determine coverage, liability, and settlement value.
  • Analyze coverage and draft coverage correspondence.
  • Participate in mediations and attend trials as required.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance claims processing efficiency and accuracy within the team.
  • Collaborate with legal and investigative teams to resolve complex or contentious claims.
  • Provide expert opinions and insights during cross-functional meetings.
  • Manage costs in collaboration with the Litigation Management and Vendor Management teams.
  • Participate in professional associations to stay updated on changes in claims management.
  • Communicate with senior executives, brokers, reinsurers, actuaries, underwriters, insureds, and auditors (both external and internal).
  • Serve as a mentor to claims professionals, fostering skill development and career progression.

Pay

The base salary for this role is expected to be in the range of $140,000 to $160,000, with target incentive compensation based on overall corporate and individual performance.

Schedule

This role requires working 3 days per week in the office and adhering to AXIS licensing requirements.
