Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Specialist to join a team. This role involves managing a portfolio of commercial general liability and commercial auto claims, including construction defect losses.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial general liability and commercial auto claims, including small to medium-sized construction defect losses.
  • Investigate claims to evaluate coverage, liability, damages, and exposure.
  • Obtain and analyze policies, reports, statements, medical records, expert opinions, and other documentation necessary for claim resolution.
  • Develop and execute effective claim resolution, settlement, and reserving strategies within assigned authority.
  • Analyze and negotiate settlements to achieve appropriate claim outcomes.
  • Communicate coverage positions and claim decisions to insureds, claimants, brokers, legal counsel, and business partners.
  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, depositions, settlement conferences, and trials as needed.
  • Authorize payments within delegated authority and ensure timely and accurate claim handling.
  • Maintain complete and accurate claim documentation, correspondence, reports, and settlement records.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, risk engineering, and other internal partners to strengthen customer relationships and improve business results.
  • Serve as a resource on casualty claims handling, coverage analysis, litigation management, and settlement strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of commercial casualty claims handling experience.
  • Experience handling commercial general liability and/or commercial auto claims.
  • 2+ years of experience managing a litigated desk.
  • Exposure to claims ranging from $50,000 to $500,000.
  • Familiarity with industries such as oil & gas, underground tank, environmental, and construction.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of policy interpretation, coverage analysis, reserving practices, and litigation management.
  • Adjuster license preferred (home state license in TX or FL is advantageous; assistance will be provided to obtain licenses if needed).
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Pay

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000+ (depending on experience)
