About the role
This position supports a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industry verticals and serves as a trusted claims resource to clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders. This role also serves as a strategic advisor to clients, supporting their overall risk management objectives and helping to identify claim trends, exposures, and opportunities to improve claim outcomes across their risk management portfolios.
Location: Los Angeles or Newport Beach office, 2x a week in-office requirement.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with the reporting of Property & Casualty (P&C) claims, including interpreting P&C policies to determine applicable coverage(s) and notifying all appropriate insurers.
- Act as a liaison between clients and insurers to ensure claims are handled timely with the best possible outcome.
- Assist clients in resolving coverage issues and negotiating settlements.
- Review summons and complaints for proper handling and reporting to appropriate carriers.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, adjusters, producers, attorneys, and claimants regarding claims and servicing.
- Set up and maintain claim files; prepare faxes, cover letters, and other correspondence as necessary.
- Document all claim activity and communications within agency management systems.
- Notify account managers and producers of any client service, claims, or coverage concerns.
- Notify Loss Control of any potential safety issues resulting from or potentially leading to a claim.
- Monitor progress of claims to satisfactory conclusion.
- Participate in carrier claim reviews with the client.
- Support clients across various industry sectors and risk profiles, providing responsive claims advocacy and service.
- Serve as a strategic claims consultant by providing insight into claim trends, loss drivers, coverage considerations, and claim management strategies supporting overall risk management initiatives.
- Advocate for clients and actively manage complex Property & Casualty claims across all lines of coverage, with emphasis on General Liability, Auto Liability, and Property claims.
- Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient and timely processing of all responsibilities.
- Work as a team within established timelines and production capabilities, interacting professionally and productively.
- Serve in a team leadership and/or mentoring capacity when appropriate, assisting with training, collaboration, and execution of claims advocacy and client objectives.
- Maintain cordial and effective relations with clients, carriers, vendors, business partners, and members of EPIC’s Southern California Account Management Team.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing information, guidance, and support to achieve client objectives and company goals.
- Remain informed of legislative developments, coverage changes, market trends, carrier programs, and emerging technology to continuously enhance knowledge and performance.
- Local travel may be required on a periodic basis.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of Property & Casualty claims experience, gained through work with a broker, insurance carrier, and/or third-party administrator (TPA).
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Valid P&C Brokers License.

Pay
The national average salary for this role is $110,000 to $125,000 in base pay, exclusive of bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on experience, skills, training, certifications, internal equity, and market data.
