Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with the reporting of Property & Casualty (P&C) claims, interpreting P&C policies to determine applicable coverages and notifying insurers.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and insurers to ensure timely claims handling and optimal outcomes.
  • Assist clients in resolving coverage issues and negotiating settlements.
  • Review summons and complaints for proper handling and reporting to carriers.
  • Respond to inquiries from clients, adjusters, producers, attorneys, and claimants regarding claims and servicing.
  • Set up and maintain claim files, prepare correspondence, and document all claim activity in agency management systems.
  • Notify account managers and producers of client service, claims, or coverage concerns.
  • Alert Loss Control to potential safety issues related to claims.
  • Monitor claim progress to ensure satisfactory resolution.
  • Participate in carrier claim reviews with clients.
  • Support clients across various industry sectors, providing responsive claims advocacy and service.
  • Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient and timely processing of responsibilities.
  • Collaborate as part of a team within established timelines and production capabilities.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, carriers, vendors, and EPIC’s Southern California Account Management Team.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve client objectives and company goals.
  • Stay informed about legislative developments, coverage changes, market trends, carrier programs, and emerging technology.
  • Perform periodic local travel as required.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of Property & Casualty claims experience, gained through work with a broker, insurance carrier, and/or third-party administrator (TPA).
  • Knowledge of Property & Casualty coverage forms, claims processes, and industry practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to make sound judgments.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Valid P&C Brokers License.

Pay

The national average salary for this role is $95,000 to $105,000 in base pay, exclusive of bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on experience, skills, training, certifications, internal equity, and market data.
