Responsibilities

• Manage complex civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Develop litigation strategy and evaluate liability and exposure
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Prepare matters for hearings, mediation, and trial
• Represent clients in court proceedings and other litigation events
• Work with experts, witnesses, and other professionals
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic legal analysis
• Negotiate settlements when appropriate
• Take cases through trial when necessary
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and internal stakeholders

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Ohio Bar
• 7+ years of civil litigation experience
• Trial experience required
• Strong courtroom advocacy skills
• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication abilities
• Ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation
• Public-sector/government litigation experience will be considered

Pay

$160,000 - $200,000 per year
