Senior Central Sterile Service Technologist

About the role

The Senior Central Sterile Services Technician is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies used in patient care. This position operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards, examines medical equipment for defects and reports faulty equipment to appropriate personnel, and ensures compliance with all established local and federal health and safety regulations. The Senior Central Sterile Services Technician functions as a preceptor and educator for new team members, provides educational support through hands-on training and orientation, serves as a subject matter expert in sterile services, and manages work allocations for peers within the department.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies for patient care
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards
• Examine medical equipment for defects and report faulty equipment to appropriate personnel
• Ensure compliance with all established local and federal health and safety regulations
• Function as a preceptor and educator for new team members
• Provide educational support through hands-on training and orientation
• Serve as a subject matter expert in sterile services
• Manage work allocations for peers within the department

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
• CRCST certification (Required)
• 2 years of experience (Required)

Pay

The base pay range for full-time employment is $26.43 – $40.31 hourly. Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
