Full-time position administering and organizing an efficient nutrition program responsive to the needs of the Omaha Tribe Elders.
Responsibilities
- Implement Title VI Program and Tribal Policies and Procedures in compliance with Federal Regulations.
- Coordinate Meal Services, Supportive Services, and Transportation Services to best serve the Omaha Tribe Elders.
- Prepare and maintain reports for Federal, State, and local agencies as required.
- Supervise staff and volunteers.
- Serve as liaison between the Omaha Tribe Elders and the Omaha Tribal Council.
- Promote good working relationships between the Title VI Program and the community, Omaha Tribal government, Federal agencies, local and state offices on aging.
- Provide training for staff and volunteers to enhance their understanding of the Title VI Program and other elderly-related programs.
- Work closely with the Tribal Financial Office and the contract office.
- Conduct regularly scheduled staff and Advisory Committee meetings.
- Recruit volunteers through collaboration with the RSVP Program.
- Provide opportunities for all to contribute or volunteer to the Title VI Program.
- Ensure all meals are served in a timely manner and meet the 1/3 Daily Recommended Dietary Allowances.
- Ensure groceries and supplies are ordered on a timely basis and properly stored.
- Be prepared to fill in for other staff members as needed.
- Prepare meals for a large number of people.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in office administration.
- Certificate in food preparation or ability to attend training in food preparation.
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license and insurable under the Tribe’s insurance.
- Understand the purpose of the Title VI Program.
- Ability to understand or speak the Omaha Language.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic for adjusting recipe ingredients and calculating food servings.
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
P.L. 93-638, Indian Preference and Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) will be practiced; however, all qualified applicants will be considered.
