Senior Category Manager

Our client, a well-established organization located in Downtown Houston, is seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic procurement and supply chain professional who brings deep category management expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for driving sourcing excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category management and strategic sourcing strategies
• Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, and vendor performance initiatives
• Analyze spend data and procurement trends to identify cost-saving and value-creation opportunities
• Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business objectives
• Build reporting tools, dashboards, and insights to support procurement decision-making
• Drive process improvements across procurement and purchasing operations
• Support procure-to-pay (P2P) initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
• Experience using data to support sourcing strategy and business recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Power BI
• Ability to build dashboards and reporting tools
• COUPA experience is a major plus
• Strong understanding of P2P (Procure-to-Pay) processes
