Senior Buyer/Planner

About the role

Dunlop Manufacturing, a leader in music accessory manufacturing, is seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner for on-site work in Benicia, CA. This role oversees the end-to-end procurement and production planning process for Dunlop products, coordinating raw material acquisition, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring all parts and supplies meet rigorous quality standards. The Senior Buyer/Planner leads high-level negotiations and contract management to secure optimal pricing and lead times, and handles the issuance of production orders for internal manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requirements for various production materials
• Evaluate items for cost competitiveness
• Establish and maintain cost reduction programs
• Recommend new sources and suppliers
• Negotiate blanket purchase contracts with new and existing suppliers to deliver product at the lowest total acquisition cost
• Interact with a diverse group of suppliers regarding quality discrepancies, requisitions, and PO variances
• Plan, modify, and reschedule purchase orders according to production schedules
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials
• Assist with producing and scheduling production runs based on product demands
• Maintain the schedule and actively communicate changes to the production team on a routine basis

Requirements

• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner/Purchasing Agent
• Experience in sourcing new suppliers and competitive bidding
• High School diploma or some college
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
• Comfortable working under the pressure of time constraints
• Strong interpersonal skills and a professional presence
• Strong math and computer skills
• Able to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (with focus on Excel) and MRP systems

Pay

Competitive hourly wage ranging from $37.00–$50.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
