Main Functions
- Inventory: Drive Inventory Turns performance on a customer-by-customer basis. Work with Account Managers to ensure correct Inventory policies are applied.
- Materials Planning: Ensure a good material pipeline and align Material requirements with the Site build schedule.
- Supervision: Coordinate Material Planner and Expeditor activities, ensure appropriate staffing levels, and ensure system integrity.
- Systems: Maintain system integrity, train users, and ensure they are aware of system capabilities.
- Clean to Build: Chair weekly Clean-to-Build process to establish Materials position and identify key shortages.
- Reschedules: Manage reschedules with vendors and the Purchasing group to maintain inventory balance.
- Try for Fit: Provide Materials group input into try for fit process for potential upside business analysis.
- BOM Analysis: Ensure Item master and BOM inputs comply with corporate guidelines and local business requirements.
- MRB/Disposals: Manage and assign tasks for Excess, damaged, or obsolete Materials, including MRB process for non-conforming material.
- Communication: Establish and maintain effective communications with the Materials Planning Group.
- Teamwork: Act as a good team member, aware of business issues affecting the group and the company.
- Appraisals: Administer structured appraisal system, conduct Training Needs Analysis, and Succession Planning.
- Requisition Control: Approve all Materials requisitions before placing purchase orders.
- Measurements: Implement processes to measure and report Metrics such as Regular Materials KPI, Minimum E&O, Suppliers KPI, % Inventory in MRB, Line downtime due to material, Excess, Inventory aging.
Qualifications/Experience
- Further education qualification in relevant discipline or equivalent recognized authority.
- At least three years of Management/Supervisory experience in a Materials role, preferably in high-volume electronics manufacturing.
- Clean driving license and current full passport.
- Flexible with respect to working hours and foreign travel, expecting overtime.
- Good command of business English; further language skills beneficial.
