Senior Project Buyer

Summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Project Buyer – Wind responsible for developing supplier relationships, soliciting bids, analyzing quotations, and selecting suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Purchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, and other factors
• Propose purchase transactions that higher authority approves before final action
• Arrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliers
• Track order status from placement until delivery and communicate status to project teams
• Facilitate and run meetings internally and externally
• Enter purchase agreements and maintain contact with suppliers for timely material delivery
• Visit job sites or offices annually to develop more effective working relationships
• Effectively work and build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management, or related discipline or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
• 4+ years of procurement experience and/or experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and materials, purchasing processes, and procedures (preferred)
• Project Management experience (preferred)
• Understanding of the construction industry (preferred)
• Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal, and communication skills
• Strong customer service and analytical skills
• Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
• Software experience
• Current driver's license

About the Role

The base pay range for this role is $85,300 - $128,000. Additional benefits include medical and prescription drug plans, dental plan, 401k retirement plan, paid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves, employer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance, mental health tools and concierge, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and gym membership discounts.
