About the role
Nuveen Taxable Fixed Income Technology is hiring a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join the Taxable Fixed Income (TFI) front office technology team. This role serves as a liaison with the front office (Portfolio Managers, Traders, Research) and, when needed, the middle office, providing white-glove support and contributing to the change and transformation agenda as a Business Analyst (creating BRDs, maintaining product backlogs, testing, UAT, rollouts, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Identifies and analyzes business needs, conducts requirement gathering, and defines scope and objectives of each project.
- Leads the identification of portions of the organization’s IT platform/infrastructure with the highest potential return for cloud deployment.
- Implements the organization’s global strategies and initiatives to enhance Information Technology plans, operations, and procedures.
- Makes recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.
- Translates business requirements into application requirements and collaborates with team members to execute applications successfully.
- Engages client teams, explaining moderately complex initiatives in an understandable manner while addressing client concerns.
- Estimates costs of system solutions and prepares project plans to inform decisions about prioritizing projects and allocating IT resources.
- Prepares and maintains technical documentation to guide system users and assist with ongoing operation, maintenance, and development.
- Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.
- Conducts cost/benefit evaluations of cloud solutions compared to virtual private networks, dedicated hosting, and in-house solutions.
- Determines the technical feasibility of adopting external cloud-based IT platform and infrastructure services within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (required).
- 3+ years of work experience (required); 5+ years (preferred).
- 3+ years of Business Systems Analyst experience.
- Experience with State Street’s OMS – CRIMS (Charles River Management System), including setup, configuration, integration, implementation, testing, and support.
- Experience with key CRIMS components: Manager Workbench, Compliance, What-if, Rebalancer, and others.
- Proficiency in SQL, Linux/Unix/Python scripting, office tools (Excel/PPT/Word), JIRA, and ServiceNow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Fixed Income Technology/Operations (open to other asset class experience on CRIMS).
- Experience with AWS and Python.
- Experience with BQL (Bloomberg Query Language).

Pay
Base pay range: $93,000/yr – $122,000/yr. Actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. The competitive compensation package may also include participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
