Senior Business Operations Coordinator

About the role
The Sr. Business Operations Coordinator is responsible for the end-to-end activities associated with new and renewing State-issued clinical licenses across all clinical specialties (e.g., nurses, physicians, dietitians) for Optum employees. This includes primary source verification, initial application and renewal mailings, reviewing content for completeness, and loading into the department's database. The Clinical Licensure team supports the enterprise with clinical licensure to maintain and track over 241,000 licenses and certifications, as well as assist clinicians with obtaining new state licensure.
This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any shift during normal business hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST. Occasional overtime may be necessary based on business needs. We offer weeks of on-the-job training, with training hours discussed on your first day of employment.
Responsibilities
- Review clinician demographics entered into the user interface and approve for importing
- Populate and print new license applications
- Communicate timely with clinicians regarding missing information and/or inconsistencies
- Prepare application(s) mailings
- Complete full quality assurance review of clinician applications returned to the department
- Obtain license payment funding on behalf of the clinician
- Submit applications including payment and other required supporting documents
- Follow up on outstanding applications submitted to State boards
- Monitor aging reports and take appropriate action with State boards and/or clinicians
- Perform online payment requests and manual check payment requests
- Perform primary source verification by accessing individual State board websites
- Handle special assignments, including monthly interaction audits and State board reporting
- Monitor clinical licensure in clinical licensure system(s) to ensure data integrity
- Onboard clinicians into clinical licensure system(s)
- Work independently with minimal established procedures
- Act as a resource for others and coordinate activities and training as needed
- Meet business demands and deadlines in a frequently changing environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 1+ years of experience navigating systems and databases to complete repetitive tasks with high quality
- 1+ years of experience meeting business demands and deadlines in a frequently changing environment
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to learn new skills, systems, and processes
- Flexibility to work any shift during normal business hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST) with occasional overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working with licensing and/or applications
Pay
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $18.00 – $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment, depending on factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
