Senior Business Manager, In-person Experience Strategy
About the Role
As a Senior Manager, Business Analysis at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges within the Retail Bank's Experience Strategy team. You will lead a team focused on developing customer experience measurement infrastructure, driving action to improve the in-store experience, and managing intent for strategic projects related to in-store experience for cafes and branches. This role involves collaborating in an environment that values insight, encourages new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.
Responsibilities
- Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies to drive growth, profitability, and competitive success amid shifting consumer and regulatory behavior.
- Business ownership: Adopt an ownership mindset, potentially with P&L accountability for a business segment; engage in strategic planning with a 1-6 month horizon.
- Leadership: Manage and develop a team of analysts; coach and mentor associates to retain talent at Capital One.
- Product: Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for lending products; lead product-level modeling and analytics.
- Marketing: Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts and strategic intent for products distributed through various channels; build targeted insights to inform new customer experiences and breakthrough technology.
- Credit Risk: Drive improvements in credit performance by connecting future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses.
- Execution: Coordinate across lines of business to manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build requirements, and execute product strategy; oversee multiple projects concurrently.
- Partnership: Collaborate with IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and other teams to improve quality, volume, service, and profitability.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least 3 years of experience performing quantitative analysis.
- At least 3 years of experience performing qualitative analysis.
- At least 1 year of experience in people management.
- At least 1 year of experience in project management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, or Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis.
- 5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis.
- 2+ years of experience in people management.
- 2+ years of experience in product development.
- 2+ years of experience in financial modeling.
- 2+ years of experience in economic forecasting.
- 2+ years of experience in project management.
- Previous consulting experience is a plus.

Pay
The annual full-time salary ranges for this role are as follows:
- McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Business Manager.
- Richmond, VA: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Business Manager.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
