Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, SMGS Ops - Sales Planning & Compensation
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Sales Planning & Compensation team within AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS). This role involves working closely with Sales Operation Leaders, Product Managers, and other business users to understand and implement reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BI engineering, experience with large data sets, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various business units.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the models/data to maintain and analyze large data sets
- Write high-quality SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data from databases like Redshift and MySQL
- Build data models using Python and partner with business owners, tech, and central teams to integrate machine-learning, generative AI, and automation
- Apply analytical and statistical methods to solve complex business problems and inform decision-making
- Develop and manage scalable solutions to address challenging business issues
- Communicate complex analytical findings to senior leadership both verbally and in writing
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define and deliver analytical deliverables
- Strategically think about business, product, and technical challenges and work cross-functionally
Requirements
- 5+ years of SQL, ETL, or Oracle experience
- 5+ years of statistical analysis experience
- 1+ years of automated reporting experience
- Experience with large (multi-TB) data sets, including extraction, transformation, and cleaning
- Knowledge of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining
Qualifications
- Master's degree in statistics, data science, or a related quantitative field
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python)
- Advanced SQL skills

The base salary range for this position is $130,400.00 - $176,300.00 USD annually.
