Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, SMGS Ops - Sales Planning & Compensation
About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Sales Planning & Compensation team within AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS). This role involves working directly with the models/data, working with large data sets and the technical tools needed to work with them, writing high quality SQL queries, building data models, integrating machine-learning, generative AI, and automation into scaling programs and processes, using analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems, driving towards simple, scalable solutions, project-managing multiple workflows, and communicating complex analytical results.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the models/data
- Work with large data sets and the technical tools needed to work with them
- Write high quality SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (ex. Redshift, MySQL)
- Build data models leveraging Python
- Partner with business owners, tech and central teams to integrate machine-learning, generative AI, and automation into scaling our programs and processes
- Use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions
- Drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems
- Project-manage multiple workflows and communicate complex analytical results, both written and verbally
- Work with key business stakeholders to understand requirements and shape analytical deliverables
- Think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to work cross-organizationally
Requirements
- 5+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience
- 5+ years of performing statistical analysis experience
- 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
Qualifications
- Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
Benefits
Base salary range: $130,400.00 - $176,300.00 USD annually
