Senior Business Development Manager – Global Commercial Disputes

Provides business development support and strategic project leadership to attorneys in the Global Commercial Disputes practice group in the United States, interacting with practice group leadership, partners, associates, and other business development and marketing resources across the firm.
Responsibilities
- Develop a working knowledge of the practice group's services, revenue priorities, clients, and prospects.
- Act as a firm resource regarding collective and individual experience, industry/trade group organizations, legal and business trends, marketing collateral, and media.
- Stay current on developments and trends in relevant industries, including new clients and significant matters.
- Collaborate with firm resources to analyze industry competition, market trends, financial information, business opportunities, and pitch activity.
- Assist in developing the annual marketing strategy and implementing the strategic plan for the practice group.
- Partner with leadership to create and execute a holistic global strategic framework and key objectives.
- Develop strategic business development plans for key clients in collaboration with client relationship leaders.
- Assist attorneys in identifying business development opportunities and executing individual marketing plans.
- Develop tailored pitch and proposal materials, contributing as a subject matter expert for global proposals and multi-practice pitches.
- Work with attorneys and business development professionals to create and maintain standard practice-related materials (capability statements, profiles, matter lists, case studies, bios, etc.).
- Develop strategies for directory submissions (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500) and assist in preparing submission materials.
- Partner with branding and public relations teams to implement thought leadership and campaigns to raise the practice group's profile.
- Develop and execute thought leadership strategies across multiple platforms (client alerts, blog postings, podcasts, social media).
- Assist with onboarding and integrating lateral hires into the practice group.
- Plan and execute strategic events, seminars, webinars, sponsorships, and conferences, including contract negotiation and project management.
- Utilize the firm's experience tracking tool and CRM system.
- Develop and execute internal communication strategies.
- Complete special projects as assigned, ensuring high-quality deliverables within established time frames.
- Travel for meetings and events as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred; JD and/or MBA strongly preferred.
- 7-10 years of directly relevant experience in marketing or business development, including experience in a large law firm or professional services firm.
- Experience in litigation is desired.
- Strong business development and marketing acumen, with basic legal substantive knowledge.
- Minimum of 3 years' proven managerial experience, including supervising, developing, and evaluating staff.
Skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently at all levels.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task, manage workload, and remain detail-oriented.

- Experience managing and mentoring staff.

Additional Information
- May include supervisory responsibilities.
- Requires prolonged computer use and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to work extended or adjusted hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support collaboration with international stakeholders.
- In-office work required at minimum 4 days per week.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
Pay
Anticipated pay ranges (actual pay may vary based on location and experience):
- Pittsburgh/Miami/Dallas/Houston/Atlanta: $175,000 - $200,000
- Chicago: $188,000 - $215,000
