Senior Business Configuration Manager | Hybrid
About the role
The ALIP Configuration team within the Actuarial department is responsible for the successful implementation of critical processes and calculations in our policy administration system. The Business Configuration Manager oversees the design, development, and implementation of business processes within ALIP related to the configuration of insurance/annuity products. They lead a team to ensure project success, manage talent development, and support department initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and implementation of admin system functionality for: New products and features, Business rules and workflows, UI screens and pages
- Provide leadership to a team of business and technical staff to solve complex problems considering required business functionality, sustainability and scalability of solutions
- Drive continuous improvement to team standards and process focused on delivery quality and speed
- Coach and develop talent within the team
- Communicate effectively of issues, risks, and outcomes to key stakeholders
- Supports the Agile development framework and integration into Allianz Life projects
- Supports and leads department initiatives, including process improvement, technology roadmap development, cross-organization collaboration, and other duties
- Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)
Requirements
3-5 years of experience required: ALIP or business configuration platforms implementing enterprise solutions
5-7 years of experience required: Leading and directing business or IT solution delivery
4 year degree required: Four year degree in technical discipline, engineering, business, Actuarial science, mathematics, physics, economics or related field; or equivalent experience
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in communication and expectation management
- Deep understanding of annuity and life insurance functional areas from New Business to Post Issue covering the entire lifecycle of a policy
- Self-directed problem solver who asks insightful questions to get to root causes
- Technology, business and project certifications preferred
