Senior Business Analyst- PULSE - Global Payment Network
About the role
As a Senior Business Analyst at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You will team with world-class professionals to develop and test strategies that ultimately impact the bottom line. This role plays a vital part within the Global Payment Network (GPN) by providing both strategic and tactical support to explore new or enhanced business opportunities. You will drive thought leadership through comprehensive operational and product analysis, evaluate solution options, and assess associated risks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and capitalizing on growth opportunities for the organization.
- Collaborate with client-facing teams including Business Development, Product Managers, Operations, and multiple levels of management.
- Provide strategic and tactical support in identifying and developing new or improved business opportunities.
- Lead thought leadership by conducting in-depth analyses of operational activities, exploring solution options, assessing risks, and supporting the implementation of business strategies.
- Perform analysis to identify business challenges and opportunities, using data to make strategic or tactical recommendations.
- Support new product and pricing strategies for various lending products through modeling and analytics.
- Assist direct-to-consumer marketing efforts and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel; build targeted insights to inform design and development of new customer experiences.
- Drive step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses.
- Involve problem frameworks, develop hypotheses, test and analyze solutions, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts, and develop monitoring plans.
- Partner with colleagues across IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and other departments to improve quality, volume, service, and profitability.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis.
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, one of the following degrees (to be completed on or before the scheduled start date):
- A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field).
- A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, or Engineering.
- 1+ years of experience in statistical model building.
- 1+ years of experience in market research.
- 1+ years of experience in SQL querying.
- 2+ years of experience in business analysis.
- 1+ years of experience in consulting.

Pay
The annual full-time salary ranges for this role by location are as follows:
- Houston, TX: $101,100 - $115,400
- McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900
- Riverwoods, IL: $101,100 - $115,400
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
