About the role
This role offers the opportunity to influence how ATS evolves its systems and operations. Senior Business Analysts play a critical role in translating complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted partner to business and IT leaders—acting as the primary bridge between stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
- Consult with business process owners to identify opportunities for process improvement aligned with organizational strategy.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with project teams to proactively identify risks, dependencies, and resolution paths.
- Provide clarity and alignment by translating business needs into shared understanding across diverse teams.
- Lead analysis efforts for moderate to complex business initiatives involving process changes and information systems.
- Plan, conduct, and facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, workshops, and process-mapping exercises (current state and future state).
- Drive productive meetings by setting clear agendas, asking insightful questions, and guiding discussions toward outcomes.
- Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining continuous awareness of project requirements and priorities.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities, timelines, and stakeholder needs in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria using best-practice disciplines.
- Partner with business and/or product owners to help define product scope, objectives, and requirement prioritization.
- Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements that support effective technical delivery.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation, including policies, procedures, workflows, process maps, and user guides.
- Cook up and maintain documentation repositories.
Delivery Support & Quality
- Collaborate closely with development and testing teams to ensure requirements are understood, traceable, and satisfied.
- Absorb and assist with process and application testing as needed—documenting issues, outcomes, and resolutions.
- Clearly articulate design, development, and testing processes to business partners using non-technical language and to IT partners in technical terms.

Must-haves for Success
- Business Analysis Expertise: 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Senior Analyst.
- Ownership and accountability for requirements outcomes.
- Strong experience planning and estimating business analysis activities.
- Demonstrated success eliciting, organizing, and documenting requirements as features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Process & Facilitation Skills: Experience in business process development and improvement; proven process-mapping expertise using tools such as Visio, Miro, or similar; exceptional meeting facilitation skills—both virtual and in-person; ability to distinguish and organize business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Communication & Relationship Building: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work effectively one-on-one and in group settings with end users and technical teams; strong situational awareness with analytical and problem-solving strengths; professional, collaborative, and relationship-based approach.
- Organization & Technology Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience using JIRA, Confluence, or similar requirements and documentation tools; ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-initiative environment.
Education & Experience
- Four-year degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Transportation industry experience preferred, not required.
- Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.
- Availability to support work needs outside of normal business hours as required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Primarily office-based role.
- Frequent use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and multiple monitors.
- Regular verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Occasional movement throughout the office.

Compensation & Benefits
- The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $130,000.
- Base salary is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location, compared to others performing substantially similar work.
- In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives based on individual and/or company performance.
