About the Role
The Senior IT Business Analyst with the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) Agency Services supports Michigan Departments of Natural Resources (DNR), Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), and Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD). This role coordinates agency, DTMB, and vendor efforts to ensure compliance with the State of Michigan (SOM) Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) practices and policies.
Key responsibilities include completing the system security plan for the Michigan Security Accreditation Process (MiSAP), which involves Risk Assessment questions, Plan of Action and Milestones, application vulnerability scanning onboarding and requests, and more. The role also assists with disaster recovery plans, incident response plans, and business continuity plans.
This individual will train and mentor staff on GRC tools, processes, and procedures, including identifying training needs and materials. The position supports compliance with audit criteria, provides process development and audit support for partner agencies’ IT systems, websites, web applications, mobile sites, and mobile applications, and mentors DTMB staff on compliance.
Collaboration with external stakeholders such as auditors, project managers, analysts, vendors, development resources, and business partners is a critical aspect of this role.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate compliance efforts with State of Michigan Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) practices and policies.
- Complete the system security plan for the Michigan Security Accreditation Process (MiSAP), including Risk Assessment questions and Plan of Action and Milestones.
- Onboard and manage application vulnerability scanning requests.
- Assist in developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans, incident response plans, and business continuity plans.
- Train and mentor staff on GRC tools, processes, and procedures, including identifying training needs and materials.
- Support compliance with audit criteria for IT systems, websites, web applications, mobile sites, and mobile applications.
- Provide process development and audit support for partner agencies.
- Mentor DTMB staff on compliance-related matters.
- Collaborate with auditors, project managers, analysts, vendors, development resources, and business partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
- Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
Alternate Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics, plus two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician.
- Two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may substitute for the education requirement.
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician.
- Four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may substitute for the education requirement.
Additional Information
