Senior Building Maintenance

Position Summary

Under supervision of the Maintenance Manager, performs a wide variety of repairs, preventive maintenance tasks and various other duties as assigned. Works independently at assigned building locations. Common repair tasks will include drywall patching & painting, installing vinyl wall protection, HVAC equipment maintenance, plumbing repairs, lighting re-lamping, outlet replacement, ceiling tile replacement and other tasks as needed.

Performs regular inspections of building exterior(s) and performs any necessary repairs or makes arrangements for future repairs. Independently utilizes a digital work order system for managing assigned tasks. Identifies potential future capital projects at assigned buildings.

May travel in LMH owned vehicle to (multiple) buildings located throughout the area. May assist with snow removal and grounds care as needed. Assists other Hospital maintenance personnel in performing preventive maintenance, data cabling, and other routine and major repairs in the Health System and its equipment, or the installation of new equipment. Works with outside contractors as needed during larger construction projects.

Requirements

Read, write and follow oral and/or written instructions and dexterity to use standard hand and power tools. Work requires between three to five years of general maintenance experience. Use independent judgment in determining equipment problems and method of repair. Work requires responsibility for materials and equipment.

Work requires the use of considerable care in using tools and/or performing tasks normally regarded to be potentially dangerous to ensure the safety and protection of others.
