Senior Maintenance

About the role

The Senior Maintenance Technician position at JELD-WEN involves working in various skilled trades, such as machine preventative maintenance and repair, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, welding, painting, and minor electrical work. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee complex repairs and preventive maintenance on machinery and facility systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems to minimize downtime.
• Modify, weld, machine, and assemble parts, tooling, and fixtures to support production.
• Cook up and execute equipment moves, installations, and alignments.
• Maintain a safe workspace, follow OSHA guidelines, wear PPE, and report hazards.
• Partner with operations and engineering to improve reliability and meet quality standards.
• Provide guidance and technical support to less-experienced technicians.
• Communicate with vendors or manufacturers on trouble-shooting.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Technical training preferred.
• 5+ years of industrial or facilities maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fabrication abilities.
• Skilled with hand tools, power tools, welding, machining, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing setting; able to work overtime.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. maximum, 35 lbs. repetitively.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying environmental conditions.
