Senior Building Engineer

About the role

CBRE is seeking Commercial Senior Building Engineers to join their team. Ideal candidates are those who enjoy maintaining facilities and ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Follows all applicable codes, regulations, and directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Maintains and performs preventive and predictive maintenance on building equipment, including HVAC-R, plumbing, electrical, and fire detection systems.
• Coordinates and inspects work performed by outside contractors, including landscaping, snow removal, and HVAC/R, plumbing, and cleaning.
• Performs niche and sophisticated tasks such as carpentry, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, welding, furniture assembly/relocation, and locksmith tasks.
• Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC/R, plumbing, and electrical.
• Uses PC and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS, and training.
• Performs general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and trade school or training.
• Minimum of eight (8) years experience in electrical systems, HVAC/R, Stationary and Facilities engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• EPA certification required.
• Additional certifications in electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.

Qualifications

• Meet the physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Understand existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Show strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Skills

• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
