About the role

The Senior Bridge Inspection Team Leader role involves planning and performing bridge inspections, supervising field teams, coordinating access and traffic control, preparing and reviewing inspection documentation and reports, and supporting project delivery with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform bridge inspections
  • Supervise field inspection teams
  • Cook up and manage traffic control and access needs
  • Review inspection notes, photographs, quantities, and reports for quality, accuracy, and completeness
  • Work closely with project managers and clients to support successful project delivery

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of bridge inspection and/or transportation structure inspection experience
  • Must meet or be able to meet applicable NBIS Team Leader qualifications and maintain required training and refresher requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of bridge inspection procedures, structural elements, common deterioration mechanisms, documentation practices, and applicable DOT/FHWA requirements
  • Experience leading inspection crews, coordinating traffic control and access needs, and maintaining a safe and efficient field operation
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and inspection documentation tools
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed for project assignments

Preferred Qualifications

  • FHWA-approved comprehensive bridge inspection training and applicable refresher training
  • State DOT bridge inspection team leader approval, where applicable
  • Nonredundant Steel Tension Member (NSTM) inspection training or certification
  • Underwater, rope access, snooper truck, or other specialized access/inspection training, as applicable
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure

Pay

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This role may require some travel to project sites.
