About the role

The Senior Bridge Inspection Team Leader role involves planning and performing bridge inspections, supervising staff, coordinating access and traffic control needs, preparing and reviewing inspection documentation and reports, and supporting project managers and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform bridge inspections
  • Supervise field inspection teams
  • Cook up and review inspection documentation and reports
  • Work closely with project managers and clients to support successful project delivery

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of bridge inspection experience, including experience leading field teams and delivering bridge inspection assignments
  • Maintain applicable NBIS Team Leader qualifications and required training and refresher requirements
  • Show strong knowledge of bridge inspection procedures, structural elements, deterioration mechanisms, documentation practices, and DOT/FHWA requirements
  • Lead inspection crews, coordinate traffic control and access needs, and maintain a safe and efficient field operation
  • Review inspection notes, photographs, quantities, and reports for quality, accuracy, and completeness
  • Show strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Show proficiency with basic computer applications and inspection documentation tools
  • Show valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed for project assignments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred certifications include FHWA-approved comprehensive bridge inspection training and applicable refresher training, state DOT bridge inspection team leader approval, NSTM inspection training or certification, underwater, rope access, snooper truck, or other specialized access/inspection training, and Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure
